*Bassia scoparia (Linnaeus) A.J. Scott. Summer-cypress, Kochia, Mexican Fireweed. Phen: Jun-Aug. Hab: Disturbed areas, waste ground, particularly along railroad tracks, also in waste areas near wool-combing mill. Dist: Native of Eurasia. Reported for SC (Berkeley Co.) by Pittillo & Brown (1988).
